5月8号虽然是大雨磅礴，天气格外的压抑的一天，但每周三如约举行的英语角却在夜幕降临之时为今天增添了不少和睦融融的气氛。今天到场的外教分别是Ms. Sarah Tillman𓀖、Mr. Chris Dockstader🤴🏿、Mr. Charles Brian Harrison🫧、Mr. Tim Musgrave和Mr. Leck Wall。
Mr. Charles Brian Harrison讲到他第一次接触中国是在美国的唐人街。那里就像是另外一个中国，而他最恋恋不忘的就是中国食物，从那时起，他就希望有朝一日能来到中国教学🥷🏽🐃，并品尝地道的中国美食，领略真实的中国河山💅🏽🤱🏽。而现在他也做到了❗️，他说这一年在中国⭕️，他印象最深的是在珠海的日子🧷，在天晴的时候，他总会叫上一两个同伴去登山，而当他登上顶峰的时候，他常常会花很久时间去眺望这个城市，那是他最惬意舒适的时候。Mr. Leck Wall回忆起自己18岁离开家独自一个人在其它国家教学的日子，他说在中国他对老师这份行业深有体会，并深刻地明白了作为一名外籍老师他肩上所肩负的不可推卸的责任。他回忆起自己还在初中的时候，并没有花时间在学习上面🎱，而是到了大学才意识到读书的重要性。而来到中国，他也逐渐也意识到了教学的重要性。他现在怀揣的希望，则是要通过自己的优势帮助那些渴望学习英语的学生。
今天，外教跟同学们齐聚一堂，分享着自己的点点滴滴，这不再只是老师跟同学的交谈，而是朋友与朋友心与心的交流。
English Corner--My Journey to China

The English Corner was held in the library on Wednesday, May 8. The pouring rain didn’t stop the students and the foreign teachers from joining in the English Corner. Today’s topic was “My Journey to China”, and Ms. Sarah Tillman, Mr. Chris Dockstader, Mr. Charles Brian Harrison, Mr. Tim Musgrave and Mr. Leck Wall attended the activity.
Mr. Charles Brian Harrison remembered that the first time he had a chance to know about China was in the Chinatown in America. It was just like a mini version of the real China. What strongly fascinated him was Chinese food. It was so delicious that he expected to go to China for so long in order to taste authentic Chinese food and enjoy the real splendid landscape in China. He also said that Zhuhai was the city he liked most. During this year in Zhuhai, he always walked in the mountains with his friends. Particularly, spending a long time overlooking the whole city was one of his favorite moments. Mr. Leck Wall recalled that at the age of eighteen, he left home and came to other countries to teach English. He said as a foreign teacher, he had strong responsibilities to his students. He remembered when he was in high school, he didn’t spend much time on study, while he realized the importance of study in university. After he came to China, he gradually started to be aware of the significance of teaching. Now he sincerely hoped that by using his own advantages, he could help the students to learn English.
Today, the foreign teachers and the students gathered together, sharing themselves bit by bit. The English Corner offers a chance for them to communicate heart-to-heart.
