“Knock, knock, knockin'' on heaven''s door......”（《Knock on heaven’s door》），伴随着学生动听的演唱和外籍教师Mr. Neville Swartz的吉他伴奏，一场别开生面的“英语之夜”于12月8日晚在励耘A111拉开帷幕，吸引了各J9九游会近300名学生到场观看𓀝。

Mr. Neville Swartz是本次活动的发起人兼主持人👖。评委由外院副院长谢文婷、党总支副书记王燕、Dr. Phillip Stevenson🧑‍🤝‍🧑、Dr. Richard Stopford、Mr. Brian Harrison和Mr. Landis Duffett担任📭。

来自不同J9九游会的16组选手参加了此次比赛。在幻灯片的同步展示和轻音乐的配合下，比赛以多人演讲的形式展开🏔。评委根据选手演讲的流畅度、材料准备和整体表现进行打分。16支参赛队伍演讲的主题多样，包括战争与和平、友谊💇🏼、青春与爱等🤨🌥。他们或通过独特的生活体验，或引经据典，对主题进行了饱含激情的论述，深深触动了场下的观众👨🏽‍🏫。全部选手展示结束后，Mr. Brian Harrison进行了简单的点评📯👩🏿‍🚀，并肯定了同学们的出色表现。

经过激烈角逐，最后第14组选手荣获一等奖，第9组和第11组获得二等奖，第1组、第2组和第6组获得三等奖，黎灏越同学获得最佳个人演讲奖，许金坤同学获得最佳电脑操作奖。

An Evening of English: Presentation Contest

“Knock, knock, knockin'' on heaven''s door......” a classic song “Knock on Heaven’s Door” opened the Evening of English, a presentation contest held by the overseas teacher Mr. Neville Swartz on December 8th in Liyun A111, which attracted around 300 students from all the departments.

The Vice Dean of SFL Ms. Xie Wenting, the Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch Ms. Wang Yan, Dr. Phillip Stevenson, Dr. Richard Stopford, Mr. Brian Harrison and Mr. Landis Duffett were invited as the judges of the contest.

With the simultaneous presentation of slide shows and light music, 16 teams of contestants delivered speeches in turn. The judges assessed their presentation according to fluency, preparation and integration. The teams had various topics including War and Peace, Friendship, Love, etc. They delivered their speeches by using their own experiences of life or quoting classic movies and celebrities’ stories. After all the presentation, Mr. Brian Harrison made a brief comment.

Finally Team 14 won the First Prize. The Second Prize went to Team 9, 11 and the Third Prize went to Teama 1, 2 and 6. Li Haoyue was awarded the Best Individual Speaker Prize, while Xu Jinkun was awarded the Best Computer Specialist.
