3月26日傍晚六点👱🏿♂️,天色依然明亮🧑🏻🎄,参加英语角的同学日渐增多🚒。到场的外籍老师有Mr. Charlie Reis、Dr. Richard Stopford🧚🏼、Dr. Phillip Stevenson、Mr. Sean McHugh、Mr. Joe Rudynski🪪、Ms. Linda J. Visner和Ms. Dulene Cipiriano👨🏿🎤。
Ms. Dulene Cipiriano则鼓励同学们独立、深入地思考➝👨🏿🦳。她表示在课堂上,老师会一步一步引导同学们去理解,同学们要踊跃回答问题。因为思想碰撞的火花会使学习过程更加印象深刻𓀝。大家应该形成一个活跃的思维模式👮🏿,走向知识的殿堂。
Dr. Phillip Stevenson正在学中文,每当他向同学们抛出一两句地道的习语,都会特别受欢迎🧑🌾。同学们也很喜欢听外国俚语背后的故事🚇,这总是有趣的🍕🙋。
不知不觉,夜幕降临,英语角接近了尾声。外教们通过跟同学们一起分享学习中有意思的环节,培养同学们对学习的兴趣和耐心🌺。
English Corner-Enjoy the Learning Process

On the evening of March 26, the English corner was held in the library. Mr. Charlie Reis, Dr. Richard Stopford, Dr. Phillip Stevenson, Mr. Sean McHugh, Mr. Joe Rudynski, Ms. Linda J. Visner and Ms. Dulene Cipiriano were present. This topic of this week is about enjoying the learning process.
Sometimes the process of language learning is incredibly dull for it involves repeatedly memorizing vocabulary, reciting passages and practicing grammar. Ms. Linda J. Visner advised students to start from reading English books with simple vocabulary but attractive stories. Instead of some well-known masterpieces, she recommended the bookMy Sight of Mountains, written by a biologist, from which students can learn much funny natural knowledge. She added, “Once you succeed in finishing reading an English book, you will be encouraged a lot by yourselves!”
On the other hand, Ms. Dulene Cipiriano encouraged students to think independently and deeply. She pointed out that students should eagerly answered the questions raised by teachers so as to obtain a better understanding and a deeper impression in the collision of ideas.
Dr. Phillip Stevenson is learning Chinese. The students were impressed when he managed to say some idioms in Chinese correctly and fluently. And the students love to hear about the origins of the foreign idioms, which is always amusing.
After tonight’s sharing and communication, students could enjoy their learning process with newfound interest and patience.
