Christopher Dockstader,Mr. Michael Fisher,Mr. Brett Gearing,Mr. David Riddiford,Mr. Darren Mullins以及Mr. Matthew Conduct.
English Corner: Study and Debate
ByQin Yue and Chen Jiali
On the evening of Octorber 12th, the English Corner was held on the first floor in the library. Mr.Byron Shermen,Mr. Christopher Dockstader,Mr. Michael Fisher,Mr. Brett Gearing,Mr. David Riddiford,Mr. Darren Mullins and Mr. Matthew Conduct attended the English Corner.
Chris was a teacher who gave lectures on debating and he explained the different debating styles between American high schools and the BNUZ. He said the debating motions in BNUZ ware always changed while only one motion was debated in American high schools the whole year so that they could be more professional in that topic.
On the other side, Brett talked about the differences between Chinese and American classes. Brett thought the classes in China were a little bit boring because instead of caring about their academic performance in class, many students just played their cellphones. So he wanted to make some changes about it. Brett also hoped the students could be more active in class.
The English Corner ended in laughter, but study would not end.
